Jocelyne led a successful renaissance dance workshop, with each dancer knowing the basic steps and grace of the pavan after 3 hours. There will be another workshop to be arranged later in the Spring.

The year started well for me, now having the Royal Schools of Music Fellowship diploma examination, with speciality in ensemble playing and transcriptions of J.S.Bach's music for recorder ensemble.

Also just back from a week at Stanford University, San Francisco where I played with the ensemble 'Troubadour Art Ensemble'. We were invited to participate in student workshops and played a concert in the beautiful memorial church. It was a wonderful experience.
The CD 'Otramar'(sefardic and troubadour music) recorded in Ireland last year is now released and features 2 students from Cork University.

Now looking forward to the recorder weekend workshop on the 'Trecento', 14th century Italian music. There will be 9 students this time, so it should be fun (just hope the snow melts and it warms up a bit!!)
Starting to take inscriptions for the recorder course 29th April - 2nd May which will be on Irish and Spanish music mainly. We'll be investigating different ways of sounding the recorder depending on the repertoire. Valerie Loomer (guitare renaissance and theorbo will be joining us, and there will be 2 concerts this time... on the Saturday night a concert with Valerie and myself organised by the AMVJO and on the Sunday the usual student concert.

Pour fêter le début de l'année et la Fête des Rois nous allons jouer un concert à Lieuran Cabrières ce dimanche

harpe triple volée/stolen triple harp

Au conservatoire de Toulouse il y a eu une harpe triple volée le samedi
14 novembre 2009.
C'est un instrument du facteur Eric Kleinmann, de couleur bois miel, avec gravé en lettres marron en haut derrière la console "/Eric/".
Il y a un numéro de serie en bas, sous le socle de la harpe: 0903 II

A triple harp has been stolen at the Conservatory in Toulouse, France, Saturday evening 14 November 2009.
The instrument was made by Eric Kleinmann, has a honey wood color, and behind the neck of the harp is engraved in brown the name "Eric". There is a number engraved under the foot of the instrument: 0903 II

stage de novembre

Dernières inscriptions pour le stage du 7/8 novembre. Comme vous saviez, j'ai changé le thème. C'est maintenant Geminiani et O'Carolan; musique baroque Italien et Irlandais et le lien entre les deux. Sujet fort intérressant, nous allons se régaler!! Cette fois-ci les flûtes traverso sont incluses.

Stage de dimanche

Voici le grand ensemble de flûtes de dimanche chez Isolde. Image pris par un oiseau dans l'atelier....
Nous avons aussi fait 2 ensembles l'après -midi. Après avoir commencé avec l'atelier du son et justesse, les morceaux étudiés était: 'The Silver Swan' de Orlando Gibbons, In Nomine de Christopher Tye et 2 bransles de Bourgogne.

November recorder course
